Daily Mysore style yoga classes are taught by Sharmila Desai. Sharmila is an author, long-time Ashtanga yoga practitioner, gardener and mother. Having been introduced to yoga as a way of life from her grandmother, she was later taught the transformative discipline of Ashtanga yoga by K Pattabhi Jois, R Sharath Jois and R Saraswati Jois in Mysore. Her teachings come from daily devotion over many years. Sharmila received Certification from the Institute to teach after her two children were born. The embodied form has taught sincerity, perseverance, concentration and compassion.

Sharmila enjoys sharing her yogic studies with people from all walks of life. As an undergraduate at Columbia University, she was awarded two human rights fellowships to work in women's health and healing in India and China. She has taught classes to factory workers, at risk teens and in women’s shelters. Sharmila is committed to always being a student, in order to go deeper into the ocean of yoga. She continues to study the traditional sciences in Mysore, Tamil Nadu and the Himalayas, often having her children in tow.

Morjim Village is located at the confluence of the Chapora river estuary and the Arabian sea.  It is a quiet village with a traditional local community and the coast serves as a nesting area of the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtle.

Home to many religious communities, Goa is mythologically associated with a spiritually cleansing touch. Our village houses a chapel built in 1857 that later became Our Lady of Miracles church in 1903. Amidst natural surroundings also lies a heritage temple dedicated to the goddess Shri Morjai.
